About Park on Park

Since 2000, Park on Park has been a staple of Mundelein fun. This classic car cruise night showcases antique vehicles and draws some of the finest classic cars in the area. Starting in 2025, the event expanded eligibility to include all pre-2002 cars and trucks typically considered "antique vehicles," broadening the show beyond the original pre-1977 restriction.

History

The origins of Park-on-Park Cruise Night started as "idle conversation" among members of On the Road Classics, a Mundelein car club formed in June 1999. Club members wanted to host a local car night event and approached Mundelein MainStreet to partner on bringing visitors to downtown to enjoy classic cars.

The first event in May 2000 attracted over 160 cars and was well attended by the public. Since that time, Park-on-Park has grown significantly, receiving rave reviews from car enthusiasts and spectators alike.

After On the Road Classics disbanded in 2020 following twenty years of dedication to this popular event, Mundelein Community Connection assumed organizational responsibility. With continued support from the Village and community members, Park-on-Park carries on as one of Mundelein's signature summer recreational downtown attractions.

Admission

Free for spectators. Owners of pre-2002 antique cars and trucks are welcome to participate. Grab dinner at a downtown restaurant before or after the show.
