About the Arts Festival

The Mundelein Arts Festival is a juried fine arts festival that has grown steadily over the years, now boasting attendance of over 2,000 visitors throughout the weekend. This high-quality event showcases the unique talents of approximately 50 fine artists who work in a variety of media.

What to Expect

The two-day event features:

50 juried fine artists displaying work in six categories: Drawing & Painting, Ceramics & Sculpture, Photo & Digital Media, Glass & Mixed Media, Wearables, and Other
Student artwork from Carmel Catholic and Mundelein High Schools
Live musical entertainment throughout the weekend from local musicians
Food vendors including Tamales Diana and Hay Botana
Kids' activities including a popular children's tent
Art demonstrations and opportunities to meet the artists

Awards and Recognition

A committee of Chicago-area professional artists and art educators award cash prizes and ribbons:

Best of Show: $200
Best of Category: Cash awards for six categories
Emerging Artist Award: $500 (awarded by the Kirk Players)
Village of Mundelein Purchase Award: $500
Additional Purchase Awards from local businesses

Scholarship money is also provided to Mundelein High School and Carmel Catholic High School to award to students pursuing the arts.

Festival Mission

The Mundelein Arts Festival's mission is to:

Support the arts in the community
Provide scholarship money to deserving art students at local high schools
Bring attention to Mundelein as an excellent place to live and visit

Artist Information

Artists are responsible for providing their own tents, display tables, and materials. All tents must be white and properly weighted. Each standard display space is 11 x 13 to fit a 10x10 tent. Artists enjoy commission-free sales.

The festival offers multiple sponsorship levels including Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Festival Fan levels.
